Meet the Team

VernonVernon is the owner and Course Director at Surrey Dive Centre. The highest ranking qualification in the PADI system, Vernon has a wealth of knowledge gained in his 20 yrs of diving and is exceptional in offering support and guidance whether he is teaching open water divers or Instructors alike.

The ‘Mr Fix It’ of the centre, Vernon is often found in the servicing area undertaking in house repairs of equipment from most of the major manufacturers. With his knowledge of all things diving, Vernon is always happy to chat..and chat.. and chat.

Sue Talbot

Master Instructor Sue has been in the industry for over 20 yrs having taught both abroad and in the UK, the backbone of the centre Sue makes sure that the business runs smoothly and that the customers get exactly what they need.

More than happy to do shore support (with Buddy the dog), Sue occasionally indulges in her passion to dive, although these days she much prefers the warmer waters where the shop regularly takes clients on liveaboard or shore based trips.

Paul Dale

Master Instructor Paul started diving back in 2000, doing his open water course whilst on holiday in Antigua. 150 dives later and his first UK dive beckoned whilst on his Divemaster internship. 4500 dives later and Paul has had some fantastic diving experiences both in the UK and several warmer dive destinations such as the Maldives, Sipadan and Bonaire to name but a few.

Paul also has been know to do some technical diving too, being both a recreational trimix diver and Rebreather diver on both the Inspiration and the new Poseidon units. His first passion is photography/videography though, which along with Vernon makes him the Gadget man of the dive centre.

Jan

Janet tends to be one of our busier instructors due to the fact that she just loves being in the water, having been diving for 13 years both in the UK and abroad. She has experience of both recreational and technical diving, being both a Cave and rebreather diver.

As one of the dive centre’s 4 Master instructors, Janet loves to impart her enthusiasm for the sport from Open Water divers right up to Instructors.

Andy ‘Oz’ Osborne

Andy (affectionately known as Oz) is an ex commercial diver and PADI IDC Staff Instructor. Andy has a wealth of experience in UK waters, if he’s not in the shop or teaching he’s out looking for a space on a UK dive boat!

As stated above I’m an avid UK diver and have dived many wrecks & reefs along the Sussex, Hampshire and Dorset coasts. Swanage and the IOW offer great opportunities for all levels of diving be it Snorkeling, breath hold diving, recreation sports diving and deeper technical diving.

I am in a UK lake at least one day a week all year round, If I am lucky I get to be underwater fours or five days a week. 🙂 Although I love exploring UK wrecks I’m not adverse to pootling around a shallow reef looking at the wildlife. Get diving!
